Wine, is one of the most important products of Greek culture for more than 4000 years and an integral part of everyday life of Greeks from antiquity, has its own distinct history. Established by Dionysus, son of Zeus and Semele, deity worshiped and inspired artists, philosophers and the lives of ordinary people, with festivities in his honor as the "Flower Festival" and "Grace". The ancient Greeks liked to organize spiritual gatherings called ' symposia ', where they ate rich meals were talking about philosophical topics while drinking wine, while equally important is the role of wine in the modern era for the Greek everyday life, the economy and culture of the country.

SCHEDULE

You will travel towards the region of Nemea in the Peloponnese, one of the most important sites for the production of red wine, where the Agiorgitiko grape (grape St. George's) is used and produces wines famous for their deep red color, complex aroma and long, velvety taste. You will get a taste of the modern wineries, combining tradition and technology, producing some of the best and most prized wines of Europe and will return to Athens after a brief stop at the famous Corinth Canal.
